WisdomTree Expands Japan Management Team
TOKYO and NEW YORK, July 23, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- WisdomTree Investments, Inc. (NASDAQ:WETF), an exchange-traded fund (“ETF”) and exchange-traded product (“ETP”) sponsor and asset manager, today announced the appointment of Junichi Kamitsubo as Head of Sales of its subsidiary WisdomTree Japan K.K. Mr. Kamitsubo will oversee WisdomTree Japan’s sales and distribution initiatives, working closely with Jesper Koll, CEO of WisdomTree Japan. WisdomTree Japan also announced the appointment of Mr. Atsushi Yamamoto as Chief Compliance Officer of WisdomTree Japan. WisdomTree Japan K.K. is currently applying for requisite regulatory business registrations and hopes to commence its business in Japan later this year.

Mr. Kamitsubo joins WisdomTree from BlackRock where he served as the Head of iShares Japan until 2014. Prior to his tenure with BlackRock, he held a range of positions within the financial services industry including Morgan Stanley MUFG Securities, Schroders Investment Management, Morgan Stanley Japan Securities and Nippon Credit Bank, Ltd. Mr. Kamitsubo comes to WisdomTree Japan with extensive relationships with Japanese institutions including banks, life insurers, pension funds and regional banks.
Mr. Kamitsubo holds a Master’s in Business Administration and a Master’s of Science, Operations Research from Case Western Reserve University and a Bachelor of Arts, Economics from Keio University. He recently completed the Executive Management Program from the University of Tokyo (EMP).

Having started his career at Morgan Stanley in 1988, Mr. Yamamoto joins WisdomTree Japan with more than 27 years of experience in compliance and regulatory affairs in Japan. He has held various senior compliance roles at Deutsche Securities, Charles Schwab, Mitsubishi Securities and Goldman Sachs. Most recently, Mr. Yamamoto has spent the last five years as the Chief Compliance Officer of GE Capital Japan.
Mr. Yamamoto holds a B.A. in Sociology from Temple University.
